Sarah is an Integrative Adult Psychotherapist, a member of both UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), with an MSc. (Distinction) in Psychotherapy. She draws particularly on Humanistic approaches, Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT and related therapies, Transactional Analysis, Existential and Person-Centred Therapy, body and breathing work, metaphor and imagery
Sarah has gained experience in NHS Primary Care in County Durham, working with complex cases including: low mood, anxiety, sexual and domestic abuse (all genders); grief and loss, complex bereavement, and issues of the self and self-identity. Sarah has an interest in intersections of socio-cultural identities and their impact on therapy stemming from her MSc. research on ‘Working with Identity in Psychotherapy’.
As a Humanistic Psychotherapist, Sarah’s approach is based on the belief and understanding that there are always possibilities for personal growth, hope and positive change in therapy.
Sarah’s supervision style reflects her practice as a humanistic integrative
psychotherapist. She has completed advanced training in: ‘Containing Malicious
Projections in Supervision’ and ‘Creative |Methods in Supervision’ through www.northernguild.org.
